What is Retro Rolla?
Retro Rolla is a roller skate rental pop-up, specialising in hourly rentals of retro-style roller skates.
What do I need to know before skating?
Socks must be worn for hygiene purposes. NO SOCKS, NO SKATE.
Bring your mask. Face coverings are required while skating at The Bentway.
Bring ID to verify your identity. We accept valid drivers license, passport, Health Card or any government issued ID with a picture. Sorry we do not accept Student ID’s
Pack light and keep your belongings on you at all times. Lockers are unavailable. Retro Rolla does not take responsibility for lost or stolen items.
Arrive 15 minutes early to check-in and get roller skates. Spots will be considered no-shows 10 minutes after their time slot has begun.
Where is Retro Rolla located?
Retro Rolla will be popping up at The Bentway, located under the Gardiner Expressway at 250 Fort York Blvd, Toronto, Canada.
Can I rent roller skates, helmet and protective gear?
Absolutely! We rent skates by the hour, along with helmets and other protective gear (wrist guards, and elbow/knee pads) for an extra fee.
How much does it cost to rent roller skates?
1 hour roller skate rental: $18
Each additional hour: $10
Protective Pads (knee/elbow): $3.00
Wrist Guards: Free
When will Retro Rolla be open?
Retro Rolla will be operating at The Bentway starting mid-June 2021. Sign up for our Newsletter for updates.
What size roller skates are available?
Retro Rolla will have a limited quantity of sizes available, ranging from Women's sizes 6-11 // Men's sizes 5-12 (US sizing).
I don’t see my size, what should I do?
Skates fit true to size. If you don’t see your size try going up a size and wearing slightly thicker socks. Better to have a little extra room, than not enough. Keep in mind feet swell in the heat too!
Can I bring my own skates?
You sure can! We’re all about creating an inclusive skate community for all. Please make sure your skates are in good working condition. We recommend wearing or renting protective gear to ensure the safety of all skaters
What safety protocols are in place?
Our number one goal is to ensure the safety of all our skaters.
There are inherent risks in skating at any time/place and you are required to sign a waiver before renting skates from Retro Rolla.
Groups will be required to maintain distance from each other. Anyone who chooses to not comply with safe skating will be asked to leave the premises.
Outdoor skate rental capacity is capped at a maximum of 25 skaters to ensure physical distancing requirements are met.
Everyone is required to stand 6 feet apart in line while waiting to check-in and receive skates.
Disinfecting skates and all safety equipment between uses.
Disinfecting high traffic hard surfaces regularly.
Staff will be wearing masks when social distancing cannot be maintained.
Providing hand sanitizer both outside the office and near skate pick-up location

Do I have to wear a mask?
YES! Wearing a mask/face covering is required while skating, waiting in line to pick up roller skates and in any indoor public spaces.
Is there parking available?
Limited paid parking is available at 800 Fleet Street.
Metered parking; $1.00 per half hour.
Is there washroom facilities onsite?
Yes, The Bentway's washroom facilities will be open Monday - Sunday, 11am to 7pm. And open till 9pm Thursdays.
Is there a minimum age requirement?
Yes, you need to be 18 years or older.
Do I need a reservation?
Yes please, bookings are REQUIRED due to the reduced capacity in place. Bookings can be made on the Retro Rolla website, www.retrorolla.com.
Registration will be made available on a rolling basis.
What if it rains?
Retro Rolla is open rain or shine! Due to safety precautions, our team will contact you if we are unable to open due to extreme weather conditions.
We’ll be happy to work with you to reschedule your skate to another time.
What happens if I need to cancel my reservation?
All payments are non-refundable. Should your original reservation need to be cancelled, we require 24 hours notice and will be happy to rebook you to another available time and date. (Think of your skate session like a booked fitness class).
We will only make one change per skater (subject to 24 hours notice), so please ensure you can attend your new time slot.
